ABOUT ANDRE

Andre Amarotico is a San Francisco and New York based actor. He received his BA in Theatre and Performance Studies at Stanford University, where he served as Artistic Director at the student-run Stanford Theatre Laboratory, and where he was awarded the Evalyn M. Draper Prize for Performance, and the Muses Prize in Classics. Andre is a resident actor, Collective Member, and Board President at the Tony Award winning San Francisco Mime Troupe. Selected stage credits include Hamlet in Hamlet (SPARC), Marc in M. Butterfly (SF Playhouse), Harlan McNeal in McNeal (San Jose Stage), Clark in Push/Pull (Central Works), Nick in The Last Goat (Central Works, BATCC nomination), John Wilkes Booth in Assassins (Hillbarn, BATCC nomination), Romeo in Romeo and Juliet (Throckmorton Theatre), Tony in Kate Hawley's Remains to Be Seen (Jewel Theatre), Anthony in Sweeney Todd (6th Street Playhouse), Kenickie in Grease (Mountain Play), Billy Bones in Treasure Island (SF Mime Troupe), Abraham Lincoln/Smith in American Ma(u)l (BACCE/Brava), Pecker the Rooster in Panto in the Presidio (Presidio Theatre), Sid in Waiting for Lefty (Stanford Repertory), Andy in Smut (Word for Word), and various roles in The 39 Steps (Ross Valley Players, TBA nomination). Andre also appeared in Neighborhood Stories in a piece by Pulitzer-nominated playwright Amy Freed.
